IDLE - RENT THE WAVE

A creative graduate in BA (Hones) Fashion Business and Promotion. Open to all the opportunities that the world offers as long as they reconnect to my goal of creating my clothing brand.

I've always been fascinated by high-end fashion and hip hop. I found the journey of this counterculture from the street to the front rows of fashion shows exciting. Moreover, the influence that it has brought to fashion is hard to miss.
Over the years at Birmingham City University, through my projects, high-end fashion, the influence of hip-hop culture on it, millennials and climate change have themes addressed with dedication.

My dissertation talks about what is the influence of hip-hop music on the consumption of luxury fashion by millennials. The Independent Final Project, I proposed, by targeting the issue of climate change, the idea of ​​an application that helps, in addition to adding personal value
to its users, to extend the life cycle of these clothes monetising the idling capacity of consumers wardrobes.
The fashion industry is the second most polluting in the world.
One of the biggest problems, however, occurs when the consumer does not present an ethical way of consuming the purchases. Researches brought to light that more than 70% of the wardrobes remain unused.

Idle promotes the rental of goods between consumers, entering the sharing market, which expects growth in England to 140 billion in 2025 from 7.4 billion in 2015.
