The play 'Chicago' offers a callous reminder that crimes were as aggressively commercialised 100 years ago as they are today.
perform for the jury and you may just get away with murder...
These costumes have been designed and made for Body Synergy's pole fitness showcase themed 'A Night at the Movies'. Specifically, for the section of the show based on the play and film 'Chicago'.
This central premise, 'crime as entertainment', has been the main source of inspiration for the project. 'Chicago' was based on 2 real murder trials, showing us how our culture commercialises crime and turns it into entertainment; rather than finding true justice.
The costumes have been made for 3 contrasting characters in the 'Cell Block Tango' routine - a guilty woman, an innocent woman, and a victim; showing the contrast of innocence and guilt, and the corruption of the criminal justice system. All costumes have been made specifically for each performer with the choreography in mind, therefore practical for use on the dance floor and the pole.

Fashion is part of our culture, and it's about more than just a pretty dress " - Joan Smalls
My first collection "evil spell" was inspired by black magic and insects . The look for this collection was much more dramatic and dark. I wanted the final out come to be full of fear and sadness which was captured in the film and garments.
My second collection is inspired by the rich Mughal heritage, which was full of vibrant colour and luxurious gold's.
I worked with my client to create her dream wedding dress along with bridesmaid dresses. The collection was full of fine detail created by hand, rich fabrics and beautiful colours.

THE INSPIRATION FOR MY CONCEPT LOOKS INTO A SPECIFIC INDIVIDUAL SOCIAL NORM WHICH AFFECTED THE WAY INDIAN WOMEN DRESSED DURING THE BRITISH RAJ (RULE) IN THE 19TH CENTURY. LOOKING INTO A SOCIAL ACTIVIST JNANADANANDINI DEVI, WHO ESTABLISHED VARIOUS CULTURAL IMPROVEMENTS AND INFLUENCED THE INITIAL PERIOD OF WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENT DURING THE BRITISH RAJ. DEVI AND HER HUSBAND SATYENDRANATH TAGORE, ONE OF THE FIRST INDIAN TO JOIN THE INDIAN CIVIL SERVICE AND ALSO A SOCIAL REFORMER WHO HAD MADE A SUBSTANTIAL CONTRIBUTION TOWARDS THE LIBERATION OF WOMEN IN THE INDIAN SOCIETY
The Goal of this project is to present the personification of Pokémon in Cosplay which is inspired by the culture of animate. This collection is created with some intracacies and details which is making focus on colors presentation and techniques. As the characters: Flareon and Jolteon's powers are fire and electricity, they was adjusted on both of the make up and fabric by using muti-colors to show their characteristics. Both of their skirt and collar are the most attractive part which are made by number of tears to develop 3D layers. They became more possible like fire and electricity since I made the decision that using muti-colors of organza and net together to build their shapes.

This is my debut collection of Lingerie/ Loungewear pieces, created in collaboration with The Wedding Club Boutique London and Birmingham. This Side of Paradise is a collection of sensual lingerie and loungewear pieces designed for the wedding night and honeymoon. Loosely inspired by the 1920s and combined with modern silhouettes, I have used luxury silks and laces with vintage style fastenings to create these pieces.
A ballroom and latin dance collaboration, creating costumes for a new dance partnership.
The costumes have been designed and made for the couples first dance competition in May 2016.
The project has been influenced by the idea of positive thinking. Inspired by the book ‘The secret’, which explains how the universe delivers dreams to those that believe. Looking at cosmic energy and star explosions that send energy to those that attract it. With the costumes being made from a positive source it was believed that the outfits would provide the dancers with belief that they could achieve their goals.
The four costumes are being used to open the first collection for a new dance wear brand named, Kirsty Marie Design.
