We live in a contemporary society where people have no time for each other and mental wellbeing is becoming more spoken about than ever. Textiles are like a second skin and patterns and materials are being used as a medium to trigger positive emotion. This project has been inspired by my dissertation where I found how art and patterns can influence emotions and manipulate these to make people feel happier. Studies show symmetry and psychedelic patterns can influence your mood and help with mental wellbeing. Using a range of drawing methods, I will combine research on shape recognition linked to emotions with my favourite images from my travels. I will use elements of these selected images to create detailed vibrant energetic motifs.
