SIMORGH (AN ANCIENT PERSIAN FAIRY TALE)
The Simurgh is depicted in Persian art as a winged creature in the shape of a bird, gigantic enough to carry off an elephant. It looks as a peacock with the head of a dog and the claws of a lion and sometimes also with a human face. A gorgeous and mythical bird that has extraordinary effects in the field of legend, epic, philosophy, mysticism, and in general in the atmosphere of Persian culture.11
