A Cinderella Ballet
Collaboration with Stafford School of Dance.
For my Final Major Project, I worked with a Costumier of 46 years, dancers, choreographers, theatre technicians, photographers and filmmakers to produce this ballet performance, in lieu of the dance school’s show in November.
In keeping with the traditional element of the school, I utilised some historical methods and styles, whilst combining modern aspects to highlight 21st Century ballet and costume. The focus and modernisation, for the garments is the transformation from the “rags to riches”, which was challenging to create, nonetheless resulted in tremendous audience appreciation.
My time at Birmingham City University will leave an everlasting impression, the experience has been unimaginably fantastic, with great support for the “downs” as well as the “ups”. The tutors of BCU have educated and challenged me to become the Costume Designer and Bespoke Dressmaker, that I now have the confidence and skills to be.
