“Today's consumers are always connected. They expect informative, digital-led experiences throughout their purchase journey." (Artgole, 2017)
FOUNDit is a new app which enables customers to locate any product while they are in-store. Focusing on convenience and improving customer experience. The app will not only make the customer lives easier while shopping in-store, it will benefit the brands who use this technology increasing sells and customer loyalty. FOUNDit has recognised the retail world is changing, and understand there is a demand for new and immersive experiences in-store, to ultimately improve and aid the consumer while they shop.
The FOUNDit concept was developed after key Dissertation findings highlighted that according to a Walker study, by the year 2020 customer experience will overtake price and product as the key brand differentiator, this has created a demand for retailers to evolve their stores quickly to satisfy their consumer needs. (Customers 2020: A Progress Report, 2013) It has also been said that “85% of consumers use their smartphones while visiting a store, and 55% said that smartphones have changed the way they shop.” (Campaignlive.co.uk, 2017.)
This really empathises the gap in the market for retailers to introduce digital elements into their stores. “Brands and retailers would be wise to take note of the fact that mobile is set to fundamentally change the retail experience.” (Campaignlive.co.uk, 2015)
The largest video displays how to use the FOUNDit app, it shows the app in motion, this video goes through exactly how to use the app so it is easy for the consumer to understand. The video on the right takes you through the marketing strategy, with a range of realistic mock-ups which include; social media marketing and In-store event posters, YouTube collaborations, billboard advertisements and guerilla marketing. The video on the left is the website, it is easy to navigate around and is perfect for people who are interested in the app to find out more about it.
This project has enabled me to demonstrate how well I can work by myself, developing a business idea from in-depth research and bringing the vision to life, ultimately solving some very common problem consumers face while shopping in store. As well as creating the app and the website I developed a business plan which included extensive market and consumer research, a one-year financial plan and looked at the overall operations of the business.
