“Millennials fall for brands who know who they are and what they stand for – something that they can truly relate to”
A recent graduate of BA (Hons) Fashion, Business and Promotion. Throughout the three years spent at Birmingham City University, a number of profitable skills have been gained throughout the numerous modules. These include the use of softwares such as InDesign, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Excel and After Effects. I am aspiring to gain a role within public relations and marketing, with a particular interest in the beauty sector.
For my final major project, I created an app and website called 'Get Real', focusing on beauty product reviews for makeup, skin and hair care. was After spotting a gap in the beauty market for young females to gain access to instant reviews that are honest and posted by real people, Get Real has a great chance of succeeding. Through Get Real, individuals are updated with the latest trends and product reviews from peers and the best beauty advice from industry experts. The service is designed to give users quality information that they need in a short amount of time so that it is very specific and straight to the point. It is also created as a social community where users are able to share, like and comment on posts from other Get Real users.
Aside from the consumer benefits, Get Real differentiates itself from other competitors because not only do Get Real feature live footage from industry experts and peers but also the reviews are all video recorded that lasts up to 1 minute long only. By having video recorded reviews, makes the users more engaged and it is clearer to understand. The advantage of users having 1 minute long only to record a review would suggest that information would be consumed easily and quickly.
Get Real eliminates the use of celebrity influencers to avoid consumers assuming that celebrities have been paid to review a product. Instead, industry experts and personality influencers are invited and welcomed to Get Real where they are entitled to have their very own opinion whether positive or negative and to give the consumers the best beauty and health advice.
