Gender equality is often associated with women fighting for equal pay in the work-place. But while these women justifiably fight for equal rights outside the home, surely men have the right to fight for an equal status inside it? There are 250,000 stay-at-home dads in the UK, a figure which has quadrupled over the past 25yrs. A ‘conscious’ father is emerging with a hands-on attitude. Don’t these men deserve equal support and attention as the lines between maternal and paternal responsibilities become blurred?
