I am a recent graduate from Birmingham City University having studied BA(Hons) Fashion Business and Promotion. Throughout the final year, a Final Major Project was created developing on from the Dissertation. The FMP was devised from our individual brief and my concept was the creation of an independent retail space called 'name?' which sold independent clothing and art changing every month to fit with a current trend. The experience of the store is a main focus allowing consumers to come into contact with independent designers and artists they haven't seen before with monthly events allowing a social experience.
This Final Major Project allowed me to produce a variety of skills such as critical thinking and analysis as well as becoming confident with Excel after using it within the Business plan for the financial forecast. InDesign skills and technique were also developed over the year as this was the programme used for the creation of my Dissertation, Business Plan and Marketing 360.
I aspire to gain a career in Buying and Merchandising because I enjoy the mix of creative and mathematical skills involved. I find inspiration from visiting different places such as galleries as well as looking at blogs and websites such as WGSN.
