During my experience at university my Final Major Project (FMP) has been one of the most influential modules within my 3 years. All modules throughout my university experience has helped me to improve a variety of skills in particularly Sketch up, Adobe Indesign and Adobe Photoshop. I can work well in team as well and working independently on different projects and able to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
For my Final Major Project, I transferred ideas across from my dissertation where I investigated ‘Sports Luxe’ trend within the men’s fashion industry. I wanted to create a retail space in which consumers where able to access casual clothing within a specifically designed environment created to target their wants and needs.
As part of my FMP I created a business plan which exposes a financial forecast which will be presented to the bank manager with a breakeven analysis, as well as this, a clear 12-month marketing strategy which is formulated to reveal Nu-lad’s next steps after opening.
As well as a business plan, I curated a website and an image of what the retail space would look like within Sketchup software. The sports theme designed was created to allure the ‘casual consumer’ into store, it features a mini 5-a-side football pitch within the space where different events will be held each month.
My experience at university has influenced my chosen career for the future. Different modules throughout my journey at university has allowed me to demonstrate different skills which I have enjoyed adapting to my work. The digital marketing sector has enticed me into seeking a job in this field, as well as being interested in the marketing sector as a whole, different aspects in the digital marketing sector such as designing posters and marketing promotional material is a desired interest of mine.
The marketing sector overall has interested me throughout my years at university and as a sector opens wider opportunities to demonstrate my skill set learnt during my time at university and that I can implement in my future career.
